No-Kill State – The Society of Animal Friends believes that

Programs such as SPCA Brandywyn Valley have helped Delaware become a safe haven from death. Of the 5.3 million dogs and cats in shelters each year, 4.1 million are rescued and 733,000 die. Delaware has just gone down in history as the first American state not to kill animals in shelters.5 million a year. The Society of Best Friends of Animals, an organization fighting against euthanasia in shelters, announced exciting news from Delaware at its annual conference in Dallas. And of the 12,800 cats and dogs admitted to shelters in 2018, 11,900, or nearly 93%, were rescued. This group of shelters accommodates 60% of the state’s homeless pets and explains its success through various programs. The group has a large number of different programs.
