After spending years in an architectural firm, Beckham brought her design skills to the owner’s side, where she was ready to pursue a career with Mercy. Healthcare organizations are changing the way they design and build filtration, storage and air circulation systems at their facilities. Outlook With the growing use of telemedicine during the VOCID-19 crisis, there is a need for more research into the impact on treatment outcomes and the spaces in which they occur. I worked on the commercial side for 15 years before switching to the customer side. I also enjoyed working personally with the Sisters of Mercy, getting to know the organization and developing models that reflect their history and passion. To be honest, I didn’t plan on going back to the company side until I met people at SmithGroup. He was the general manager of facility design at Mercy. Our family rebuilt the house, and I was able to help design the parts of the house. They felt like family, and their passion for design was contagious. I love listening to people’s stories, and I think a career focused on active listening would be fun. Involving patients and staff in advisory groups, developing operational concepts with them and then measuring improvements. 7-10, 2020 Music City Center, Nashville, Tennessee. On the first day of sixth grade, my parents’ house was destroyed by a tornado. It aroused my interest in designing the ideas that were in my head and how they were built.
