STUDY DESIGN – CONCLUSION: Oral propolis spray can be used

CONCLUSION: Oral propolis spray can be used to improve symptoms of simple urinary tract infections, both bacterial and viral, for fewer days without medication, providing rapid symptom relief. RESULTS: After 3 days of treatment, 83% of people treated with Propolis oral spray suffered from remission of symptoms, while 72% of people in the placebo group had at least one residual symptom. This means that remission of simple mild urinary tract infections occurred two days earlier than in the control group. METHODS: This study was conducted on 122 healthy adults with mild upper respiratory tract infections. There was no association between the use of a spray or placebo with propolis and side effects. Five days later, all subjects recovered from all symptoms. It is recommended that a licensed health care provider be consulted before starting natural, integrative, or routine treatment. The dose was from 2 to 4 sprays, which corresponded to polyphenols 12-24 mg, three times within five days. Study design: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted.
